Van Wilder follows in his father's footsteps and begins his first year of college at Coolidge College. When he gets there, it turns out that the college is no longer the cradle of parties, but a military school run by Dean Dean Reardon. The dean, who hates Wilder Sr., does everything to make his son's life difficult. In turn, Van decides to take matters into his own hands - free Coolidge College from the hands of its tormentors and restore the university to its former glory.
