A fascinating and quite unusual war movie. The very fact that German and Russian teams collaborated in its production is interesting, considering the warfare, when the Germans suffered a devastating defeat on the Russian front, and as you know, long-standing resentments between the nations are smoldering to this day. However, this picture is not only interesting for this reason. A very interesting script deserves applause. The fate of the German prisoners of war who ended up among the Russian population was presented objectively and without unnecessary pathos.
