We know today that the great meteor impact was one of the most important causes of the extinction of dinosaurs. However, all indications are that a similar event occurred almost two hundred million years ago, shortly before the appearance of these reptiles. Did the 250 million year old disaster somehow paved the way for the dinosaurs?
