Donal (Tyrone McKenna) A 14-year-old boy who develops a passion for greyhound racing works at a dog shelter owned by Good Joe (Ken Stott). Good Joe promises Donal that he will give him his favorite greyhound, The Mighty Celt, if the animal wins three races in a row. Meanwhile, Donal's mother (Gillian Anderson) must put her life in order when O (Robert Carlyle), a man from her past, returns. The film is set in Ireland.
