Bezos, Musk - a list of record billionaires from the Forbes list

Forbes' annual global billionaire list includes a record 2,755 billionaires, with Amazon.com Inc. founder Jeff Bezos topping it for the fourth consecutive year, a media company said on Tuesday.

The ranks of the ultra-rich are expanding after the year the coronavirus pandemic has overturned the global economy and threatened the livelihoods of people around the world.

This year's billionaires are worth a total of $ 13.1 trillion, up from $ 8 trillion last year, Forbes said.

"Very, very rich have become very, very rich," Randall Lane, Forbes' director of content, told Reuters Video News.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk jumped to second place on the list, rising from 31.

Bernard Arnault, CEO of luxury goods company LVMH, Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg round out the world's top five billionaires.

JA investor and business mogul Warren Buffett dropped out of the top five for the first time in more than two decades, as Forbes' rankings are dominated by technical directors.

This year's roster has 493 newcomers, including Whitney Wolfe Herd, CEO of the Bumble dating app, which went public this year.
